Alfresco enclosures
Alfresco enclosures in Melbourne
Use your alfresco in July, not just January.
Melbourne's weather leaves most alfrescos empty for half the year. Framed glass on the open sides keeps the wind and rain out, and sliding panels open the wall again on a warm day.
- Sliding or stacking glass panels that park out of the way in summer
- Laminated safety glass for a roof that keeps the light
- Aluminium frames powder-coated to match your house

Cost
What an alfresco enclosure costs in Melbourne
Most of the cost is glass and frame: how many bays, how big, and whether the roof is already there. These are typical Melbourne figures; we measure your space and quote it in writing for the exact price.
Typical Melbourne range
- Framed glass panels, per bay
- $2,500–$6,000
- Glass infill, 3–5 bays
- $7,500–$30,000
- Fully enclosed outdoor room (5 × 5 m)
- $35,000–$60,000
A building permit, if needed, adds about $575–$2,000. Guide figures, not a quote.

How we work
Measured on site. Quoted in writing. Priced before we start.
- Tell us about the space. A two-minute form or a WhatsApp message, with a few photos and rough sizes.
- We measure on site. We check the roof, the posts and the fixing points, and talk through which sides open.
- You get it in writing. The quote lists the glass, the frame system and the doors, with the price fixed before work starts.
- We build it. Frames go up, the glass goes in, and the site is left clean.
“We've sent a few jobs to these guys and they are super fast, fair priced and no fuss. Highly recommend.”
Questions
Alfresco enclosures: common questions
How much does an alfresco enclosure cost?
Framed glass sliding panels for an existing roofed alfresco are about $2,500 to $6,000 per bay, so a three- to five-bay enclosure often lands between $7,500 and $30,000. A fully enclosed outdoor room built from scratch is more like $35,000 to $60,000, and a building permit, if needed, adds about $575 to $2,000. We measure and quote your space for an exact figure.
Do I need a permit to enclose my alfresco?
Often, yes. Enclosing an existing covered area can change how it is classified, so check with your council or a building surveyor before work starts. We can point you in the right direction when we quote.
Can an enclosed alfresco still feel outdoors?
Yes. Stacking or sliding glass doors open most of the wall in summer, and a glass roof keeps the light and sky above you.
Which areas do you cover for alfresco enclosures?
We're based in Bundoora and work across Melbourne. Most of our alfresco work is in Bayside and the inner south; we also cover the eastern suburbs and the north-east.
