Safety glass replacement

Safety glass replacement in Melbourne

Broken glass made safe first, then replaced properly.

After a break-in or an accident we secure the opening, then measure and fit new safety glass cut to size. Laminated glass holds together when it's struck, which makes the next break-in harder.

  • The opening made safe first, so you can close up
  • Toughened or laminated glass, cut to size for your frame

Cost

How a glass replacement is priced

We make the opening safe first, then measure it and quote the new glass in writing before it is made and fitted.

Options

After a break-in or an accident

The order matters: safe first, then glass that is cut to size and fitted properly.

  • Made safe first

We secure the opening and check the frame, so you can close up while the new glass is made.

  • Laminated safety glass

Laminated glass holds together when it's struck, which makes the next break-in harder. A good choice for shopfronts and street-facing glass.

  • Toughened safety glass

Toughened glass is strong and breaks into small pieces rather than sharp shards, the standard for doors and partitions.

  • Cut to size for your frame

The new glass is measured and cut for your opening, then fitted, sealed and checked.

  • Shops, offices and homes

Shopfronts, office doors and glass walls, and home windows. For a full new front, see shopfronts.

  • Frames checked too

If an impact has bent the frame, we check it and tell you plainly whether it can stay or needs replacing.

How we work

Measured on site. Quoted in writing. Priced before we start.

  1. Tell us what happened. Send photos on WhatsApp: where the glass is, roughly how big, and whether the opening is safe right now.
  2. We make it safe. The opening is secured and the frame checked.
  3. You get it in writing. We measure and quote the new glass in writing before it is made.
  4. New glass fitted. Cut to size, fitted and sealed, and the site left clean.

“We've sent a few jobs to these guys and they are super fast, fair priced and no fuss. Highly recommend.”

Questions

Safety glass replacement: common questions

What should I do when a shop window breaks?

Keep people clear of the glass, then send us photos on WhatsApp. We make the opening safe first, so you can close up, then measure and quote the new glass in writing.

Toughened or laminated glass?

Both are safety glass. Toughened glass is strong and breaks into small pieces; laminated glass holds together when it's struck, which makes the next break-in harder. We recommend the right one for each panel on the quote.

Do you replace glass in homes too?

Yes: home windows as well as shopfronts and office doors. For sliding doors, fogged double glazing and other home repairs, see our sliding door and glass repairs page.

Can you replace a bent frame as well as the glass?

We check the frame at the same visit. If an impact has bent it, we tell you plainly whether it can stay or needs replacing, and quote both in writing.
